monday music: girls in their summer clothes.

 

Something to slowly get in the mood for the summer and THE concert of this year. 2 more weeks.

 

Oh, to be chilling somewhere along the East coast of USA right now... :)

today.

 

Today I:

- slept till noon. Because sometimes you just have to sleep through Sunday morning.

- went on a shopping hunt (unsuccessful) for the cutest pink blazer to Zara. Because the one I found yesterday (in Udine) had a tiny tear on the back and I didn' buy it.

- had the said blazer in an on-line shopping basket for a few hours (and still have). Because sometimes impulsive purchases are meant to be impulsive.

- ate delicious lunch at my father's. Because it was Sunday.

- am making lunch for tomorrow. Because tomorrow is Monday and I will be tired after work and some pre-made small green pumpkins stuffed with soy flakes will be more than welcome when we come home.

- am making rhubarb pie with strawberries. Because it is Sunday and the house must smell of something sweet from the oven on Sundays.

- will be watching the sixth episode of The Kennedys. Because we went out on Friday and missed it on the TV (is watching the series on TV old fashioned?). Friday night was fun.

- will probably go to sleep late. Because I always do, although I know this will not seem like a good idea the next morning. 

- am thinking about all the cool clothes I bought yesterday and thinking about all the cute combinations to wear. Because every girl needs a refreshment in her spring-summer wardrobe. 

- am still thinking about the before mentioned pink blazer. Because I can think of at least ten combinations that would look rad with it. 

- am thinking about blogging. Because I need to find time to blog also during the week. So many nice thoughts need to be written down and so many great things shouldn't be forgotten. 

monday music: somebody that i used to know.

 

Somebody That I Used To Know by Gotye is stuck with me for quite some time now. No particular reason (a certain commercial helped, yes), I just like it. 

The two kids in the video also love the song and request it when riding in a car together. They sing along, of course. I love the video they made. How cute are they?

saturday's trip. castello di miramare and trieste.

 

Since the bug that I have been fighting for almost three weeks now is still not going away (The doctor gave me another prescription for (the third round!) of antibiotics and advised to stay at home for another week. But since I really cannot afford to be absent for one more week, I am still going to work tomorrow. I am a bit sad as I know it would be best for my health to rest some more, but what can I do? :/) we decided to fight it with a short, one-day trip to the Italian coast.

First we visited Castello di Miramare that dates back in the 19th century, the Archduke Ferdinand Maximilian of Hapsburg and his wife Charlotte of Belgium lived there.

The castle is surrounded by a large park and you can easily imagine ladies and gentlemen from that time walking around and catching the sun.

I was tired pretty fast and we went to Trieste to grab a cup of coffee and eat some crepes.

Trieste is always a pleasure, there is plenty of people in the streets, in the bars and cafes. And everybody is really easy-going. 

Tomorrow the real life awaits. 

 

monthiversary no. 8.

Today (May 17, 2012) is the 8th monthiversary of our wedding (I can't believe it has been already 8 months!) and also 2nd anniversary of our engagement. Congratulations to us :)

And... oh, I could go on and on with our wedding photos (I think they are a.m.a.z.i.n.g., but of course, it was our wedding, everything was amazing that day). These are all by Miloš & Nataša Horvat.

This time we celebrated at home (due to my ongoing illness), but A went to one of the japanese restaurants we like (and would probably visit if I wasn't ill) and brought home some a lot of sushi (well, since I can never have enough of sushi... I could eat more :)). Later, we will watch The Reader.

I am a big fan of date nights with your husband (or wife, boyfriend, girlfriend, partner, you know what I mean). I believe that hours that you plan ahead and that you have a true one on one conversation (about anything, actually) is one of the tips for a better relationship or marriage, if you wish. In this day of age when I feel that days go by faster than hours this helps me (and I believe also us) a lot. 

We have a 'pact' of taking each night that comes on the 17th to ourselves. To celebrate important events in our lives. To celebrate us.
